The main pups thwart Ivy's attempts to beat Anita's cousin Amber in the Junior Miss Grutely Pageant by cheating, though with Cruella having the judges booth in her pocket, will they be able to succeed?

- Cadpig mentions seeing a film about a poor down-trodden girl whose mice and bird friends make a beautiful dress for her. This is a likely homage to the 1950 animated Disney version of Cinderella.
- Lucky, Cadpig and Spot sing "There She Is Miss America", but with "Gruteley" instead of "America".
- This episode marks the appearance of Roger and Anita's niece Amber, who, judging by her appearance, seems to be from Anita's side of the family.
